Thursday Journal with Neet

This week it's Neet's choice of the two colours which are Distress oxides in Peacock feathers and Twisted citron and the word is dogs. I used the two colours first of all in Distress inks and then used the oxides on top. My third colour is Adirondack earth tones in rust. The two dogs are Dylusions and coloured in with watercolour pens.
I chose the snow scene to echo the garden outside which had one foot of snow with two foot drifts. We hadn't been able to get the car out until yesterday.

Tag Tuesday -- Christmas memories

For the next fortnight on Tag Tuesday, Joan has chosen Christmas memories for her theme. My childhood memories of Christmas are queueing up outside the lounge door to go into a wonderland. My parents used to do the decorations and Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, when my brother and I had gone to bed. so we didn't see anything until the big day.
The filled stocking in the morning was the first exciting thing, and then going into our parents room to see what they had in their stockings, usually a lump of coal and other boring things. Christmas seems to very different now.

Every Inchie Monday -- Wolf

Oh dear, my sewn wolf looks more like a friendly terrier than a wolf,  but making the face look longer was really difficult. My stampbord one is drawn and coloured with Staedtler finaliners.

Some pictures of our snow fall, all 14 inches of it. It's the first snow we have had here since we moved in three years ago. We can't get the cars out as our drive is too long to dig our way out.

Thursday Journal with Neet

I have been away all week culminating in looking after my daughter's marine shop with my son in law. As we normally go there at the weekend, I only twigged it was Thursday journal time this morning. As soon as we arrived home a cup of coffee and I went into the studio and worked on my journal.

I used Dylusion paints in orange and brown which were the colours I had chosen for this week. My third colour is turquoise which always goes well with the first two colours. My word was cats. I used several stencils on the background, and painted the cats with watercolour paint.

Off to see what Neet has done.

Every Inchie Monday -- Wild Boar

I've been away for four days and am off again tomorrow. What didn't I want to do, yup the wild boar. Not the easiest animal to draw and even worse to sew. My sewn one looks more like a benevolent sheep than a wild boar. After several attempts I gave up, so this is a boar and sheep cross.

Second fabric page with Annie

This month we are using the technique and style of Anne Kelly. I must admit I didn't know her work until Annie went on a workshop with her and then showed me her sample. It is the style I used on the front and back covers of my woodland book. This is the one I have made for Annie.
